Climate Action Implementation Timeline

Seven strategies to help UIC prepare for the future

The Climate Action Implementation Plan (CAIP) is a refined cost-effective portfolio of solutions that will achieve the Carbon Neutral Campus goals of the UIC Climate Commitments  by 2028. The CAIP also addresses the Zero Waste Campus, Net-Zero Water Campus, Biodiverse Campus, and Teaching and Learning goals via a variety of additional strategic solutions that will be supported, developed, invested in, implemented, and reevaluated on a 5-year incremental basis through 2050.

The CAIP was prepared by the Sustainability office in conjunction with the Chancellor's Committee on Sustainability and Energy (CCSE) and published by the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services.

To review the background and case studies of each of the CAIP solutions, access the 2018 CAIP as a full-color PDF with the original graphs and charts here. You can also access an accessible version of the CAIP beginning here.
