Our speaker will be  Oliver Baumann Dipl.-Ing., President, Baumann Consulting. His topic is Energy Master Planning.

The focus of the presentation will be Community Energy Master Planning, including the potential impact and value to a community, and how to identify and leverage opportunities.  Both community scale waste energy recovery and use of renewables will be included.  In addition, what to look for in a client, how to “sell” Community Energy Planning and how to structure teams will be covered. Included in this presentation will be current trends in US individual building energy efficiency, site energy reduction and source energy efficiency including comparison of trends in US and Europe.

Oliver founded Baumann Consulting in Washington, D.C. in 2006. His expertise covers the entire life cycle of commercial, institutional and industrial buildings and facilities, from developing innovative energy concepts to the evaluation of building performance and operation. Since 2001 Oliver has been involved in the International Energy Agency (IEA) Annex 40 on “Commissioning for Building HVAC Systems” and served as Subtask Leader “Initial Cx of Advanced and Low Energy Building Systems” . Oliver is the author of more than 25 publications and over 60 presentations on design, commissioning, and operation of energy efficient buildings.
